Terms of Service

These terms apply to everyone who uses ExamNexus AI, a study and practice service for NCEA. AIEQUITAS provides it to schools, and your school decides who gets an account. By using ExamNexus AI you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Website Disclaimer.

Need to talk to someone?

If something is worrying you, talk to someone you trust: a parent or whānau member, your dean, the school counsellor or a teacher. You can also email us at Admin@info.aiequitas.com and we'll pass it on to your school.

That inbox is not watched around the clock. Outside school hours, or if you need help now:

  • 1737: free call or text, any time, to talk with a trained counsellor.
  • Youthline: call 0800 376 633 or free text 234.
  • If you or someone else is in danger right now, call 111.

1. Who can use it

Accounts are for the students and staff of schools that use ExamNexus AI, made by the school or with the school's email address. This version is a pilot, run with a small number of schools.

2. Your account

Keep your password to yourself, and don't use anyone else's account. If you think someone else has used yours, tell your teacher or email us.

3. Using it fairly

Don't:

  • share your account or sign in as someone else;
  • use bots, scripts or other automated tools to use or copy the service;
  • try to see another student's information, or get round the service's security;
  • post anything unlawful, hateful or meant to hurt someone.

4. Practice, not assessment

ExamNexus AI is for practice. Work you do with its help is not submitted as assessment evidence, for NZQA or for your school's internal assessments. The tutor won't help with an assessment you're doing for real. Follow your school's rules on using AI.

5. AI can be wrong

Feedback, marks, grades, tutor answers and study plans are produced with AI. They can be wrong, so check anything important with your teacher. See the Website Disclaimer.

6. Your work and our content

Your writing stays yours. You let us use it only to run the service for you: to keep it, give you feedback and show it to your teachers, as the Privacy Policy describes. NZQA's material stays NZQA's. The rest of the content and the software belong to AIEQUITAS; you may use them for your own study.

7. Keeping you safe

If something you write suggests you might not be safe, we show you where to get help (the box above) and may let your school's pastoral contact know. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep.

8. A pilot, provided as it is

ExamNexus AI is still being developed. Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We provide it as it is, without promises beyond these terms. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under New Zealand law that can't be taken away.

9. Suspending an account

We or your school may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we'll tell your school about important changes.

11. New Zealand law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts deal with any dispute.
